Sharan Banagiri
Hello! I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) at Northwestern University. I have a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Minnesota, focusing on gravitational waves.
My research is broadly focused on studying the astrophysics of compact objects, i.e. black holes and neutron stars from a data-driven perspective.
I am broadly interested in gravitational-wave physics and data analysis methods for extracting astrophysical and cosmological information from them.
I am also interested in upcoming GW detectors, especially Cosmic Explorer and LISA. I am the main developer and maintainer of the Bayesian LISA Inference Package.
Since my research mostly focuses on the analysis of data, I am also interested in statistical methods and their applications to astrophysical problems.
I am a member of the LIGO scientific collaboration and the LISA consortium.
